Practicum Report #1
Time Spent this week: 2.5 hours (SS=1; AM Worship=1.5)
My Class This Week
This was my first week and I really didn’t do much but get to know some of the other students in the class. Met a lot of people from IWU that I had never met before and a couple of students from Taylor University. There seems to be a wide variety of personalities within the group. One of the guys from the group just got baptized a week ago and so I am looking forward to getting to know him and maybe have the chance to mentor him or influence his life in some way.
My supervisor and his wife are super excited to have me along with them for the semester. I am excited about the possibilities and the impactfull ministries that I will have the chance to be a part of.
One thing that I am excited about and somewhat surprised by is the fact that there is another married couple in the class that we are in. I hope that we can develop a friendship and learn from one another about life and ministry as a married couple. It will be interesting to get a glimpse of another married couple that is about our age and how they are handling the craziness of life and school and ministry all in one time.
My Questions This Week.
How is it going to be the easiest to assimilate into this already existing class?
What should I want to get out of this experience?
How can I be most effective in this ministry setting where I am not familiar with the people or the setting?

Good post.... go ahead and describe the people you are meeting... with their names if you can..or at least describe how they respond to class...
ReplyDeletealso remember to number your questions to make responses easier to track..and ask questions about learning-change-SF as much as possible, less about your own response and More about theirs.
1. I do not know if there is an exact formula to assimilate easily to an already existing group, i will tell you that simply to invest time in building relationships in the class and it will come.
ReplyDelete2. I think that relationships with those people who are in the same things that you are in. e.g. the married couple. and to grow deeper in your faith and love for Christ.
3. trust God. Prepare. Invest. the rest will follow
keep the faith.
